St Malo’s impressive walls rise vertically from the coast, protecting a warren of medieval streets lined with shops and restaurants. But for the ultimate medieval treat, Mont Saint Michel, topped by its vertiginous chapel, is an absolute must. Dinan’s winding streets are like something from a folklore tale. Your parc is simply magical too: with its huge indoor and outdoor aquatic centre at its core.
Marina di Venezia, Venetian Riviera, Italy
Can you ever, really, say you’ve ‘done’ Venice? We don’t think so. This enchanting lagoon city - once the heart of a mighty empire - rewards return trips with new surprises, and new favourite spots. Whether this is your first time, or just your latest time: Venice is a city that will cast a spell on you. As will this lovely parc, a boat-ride across the lagoon. With a tangle of slides and an array of pools, and terrific entertainment, the enchanting city might have some stiff competition.
