Regatta Camping Guide
At Regatta, our expertise in camping and outdoor wear means we have an extensive range of equipment and products to suit all camping enthusiasts. Whether you are an experienced camper, a self-proclaimed expert, or you are pitching a tent for the first time, camping is a place to create memories to last a lifetime. This guide is here to help you out and ensure you make the right choice for you!
Tents
When planning a stellar camping experience, the first port of call should surely be your chosen accommodation. There is a lot to consider when choosing the right tent for your trip; how many people will it hold? Will we stay dry if it rains? Even down to your preferred shape and style. Whatever the choice, Regatta has something to suit all. Our tents come with a variety of innovative and practical features such as inflatable poles for easy pitching, vents and mesh doors to promote airflow and blackout rooms for a great night’s sleep. They are also all waterproof, essential for anyone planning a trip in changeable weather.
With over 3,000 campsites across the country to choose from, it’s clear that family camping is still as popular as ever. For families, campsites with good facilities such as shower blocks and cooking stations, make it an easy transition and learning experience, and for veterans of solo outdoor adventuring, it can be nice to reconnect with other like-minded people.
We recommend:

Regatta’s selection of tents ranges from 2-person tents to 6-person tents, but it is important to remember to factor in any additional equipment/baggage you may be planning to take with you. For families, your best bet is to go up a size if possible, so everyone has plenty of room. Select a tent with a handy bedroom layout like the Karuna Vis-a-Vis 6-Person Tent or the Kivu Hub 6-Person Tent, both offering privacy with separate rooms, ideal when camping with kids/teenagers.
While shopping for the number of people coming on the trip may seem obvious, it’s also worth keeping in mind their average heights. If you aren’t planning on spending much time in the tent, it might not be as important, but if you will be hanging out inside the walls, it might be worth making sure everyone can stand up comfortably. Check for this on the product information and save yourself any ducking and diving.
There is certainly no shortage of festivals to sink your teeth into this summer, and camping is definitely one of the best ways to get the full experience! A rite of passage if you will. Round up your best pals, pack your wellies and make sure you’ve got all the essentials to make it a weekend to remember. Don’t forget to grab a great camping spot too. And top tip – find a landmark nearby that you can reference when looking for your tent. You’ll thank us later!

With great power comes great responsibility. Seriously though, tents are the key element to any successful camping trip, so stay ahead of the game and troubleshoot any potential issues with our handy care kits and replacement parts. Guylines, tent pegs and stability poles are all things that can potentially get damaged or go missing in the pack up, and a hole in the wall or airbed won’t be an issue with our backup fabric patches and tape. Not only are these pieces of kit essential in extending the lifespan of your outdoor accommodation, you'll also look like a proper camping pro who knows exactly what they are doing!
Camping Furniture
Once you’ve got your tent sorted, it’s time to turn your attention to making it as comfortable as possible. Our extensive range of camping beds, sleeping bags and foldable chairs & tables are only the beginning when it comes to additional pieces. We’ve got cooking equipment, lighting and hydration accessories aplenty to browse and choose from, that will have you looking for an excuse to drop everything and escape to the campsite every other weekend.
To ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable night’s sleep, your choice of sleeping furniture will largely depend on a few factors. The size of your tent and if you have any room to spare, who you will be sharing this space with and how far you will have to carry these items. If you are sharing with a partner, a double airbed would be a great choice with either double or single sleeping bags (don’t forget a pump!). Or maybe you are sharing an open plan tent with friends and are tight on room, so individual sleeping mats might be more suitable. If space is not an issue, we recommend a raised camp bed for an extra little treat. All of the above can be topped off with a sleeping bag and pillow of your choice.
If you aren’t planning to spend extended periods of time away from the campsite and want to embrace the art of switching off and doing nothing, good camping chairs are essential.
There are some incredible camping chairs available in the range, with features including armrests, reclining backs and drinks holders. Or why not go all out on a sun lounger and catch some rays (if you are lucky enough to find them!) Going hand-in-hand with chairs, foldable tables are perfect for alfresco dining and evening games under the nights sky.
Coolbags, water bottles & flasks and cookwear complete the range and will make any camping experience an absolute breeze.
