Healthy Halloween Food For Kids
If you prefer not to sugar coat Halloween, you need to try these spectacular spooky snacks that all of the family can enjoy!
Scary Apple Bites
Made from a combination of fruity favourites, our scary apple bites are the perfect way to add some creativity to your Halloween spread. If you want to save create these for yourself, save our guide to use at a later date.
What You'll Need (Make to desired amount)
- Knife
- Apples
- Strawberries
- Nut butter
- Seeds
- Chocolate Drops
Method
- Firstly, quarter the apples.
- Then, cut out a 'slice' shape from the middles.
- Fill the inside with nut butter.
- Then, slice the strawberries so they fit inside of the apple mouth, using the nut butter to stick the strawberry in so it half hangs out like a tongue.
- Take your seeds, using the nut butter place them above the strawberry so they touch the top of the apple.
- Finally, stick on two chocolate drops using the nut butter to create eyes.
Pumpkin Satsumas
Pumpkins are a major hallmark of Halloween, but they're not exactly finger food! Have a go at making some of these pumpkin satsumas for a tasty alternative kids will love. If you like the look of this recipe, you can download our guide to follow when you come to make them yourself.
What You'll Need (Make to desired amount)
- Knife
- Satsumas
- Celery
Method
- Peel the satsumas.
- Then, cut a thin piece of celery off from the stick.
- Finally, place the celery into the top of the satsuma to create a pumpkin effect.
Ghost Bananas
Our easiest snack to make - these ghost bananas are quick and tasty to make. Download this guide for later if you want to include them in your Halloween spread.
What You'll Need (Make to desired amount)
- Knife
- Bananas
- Chocolate drops
- Chocolate buttons
Method
- Peel the bananas.
- Then, cut the bananas in half.
- Using the chocolate drops, take two and gently push them into the banana towards the top of the uncut end.
- Then, taking a small chocolate button, gently push it into the banana under the eyes to create a face.
